friendsgather every year, hundreds of millions of viewers tune into the big show to watch the battle, and the commercials, with all the fixings of a great party but don’t forget the other things too.

Walmart and Target generally run cheaper than Best Buy stores but the famous electronics retailer also has several brands and special models not sold in the big box stores. Take a look at the deals Best Buy is running right now. For comparison, here is Target and Walmart specials running right now as well. Visit their websites to find online-only deals and specials for delivery, installation, and the haul away of your old set when if it’s time for it to go!

To add to the excitement and to get into the spirit of the game, get your Packers or Steelers gear now!

Green Bay fans will love the Packers’ gear on sale now at Ebay, take a look at the collection of fan apparel for Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, and others like Ryan Grant.  Ebay has brand new licensed apparel at wholesale prices including Super Bowl apparel and jerseys with this year’s Super Bowl number and logo embroidered patch.

Pittsburgh Steelers’ fans don’t feel left out because we have some deals and steals for you as well!  Take a look at the prices on these jerseys for Ben Rothlisberger, new and vintage Hines Ward jerseys, and of course Troy Polamalu jerseys.  These make great gifts for anyone who also has a birthday coming up or for your man, Dad loves gifts like this from the kids and Mom.

Gorgeous Pittsburgh fans will look sensational in these jerseys to root for your favorite player on the team.  Most stores don’t sell ladies’ apparel like these shirts but that’s all in the past, because look how cute, ahem, awesome these are!

And how can we forget the kids?  We didn’t!  We found Steelers’ gear for the kids, toddlers, and babies.  For the Green Bay little ones, we found these on Ebay for infants and toddlers, as well as these youth sizes for the older kids.

For others sites, check out the selection online from Walmart for jerseys, cups, place settings, car mats and frames, bean bag chairs, and plenty more for any team in any major sport.  Many of their stores, but not all, will have team apparel as well for various NFL teams and players.  Residents in Arizona can even find Troy Polamalu jerseys so take a look at your local store or buy online if that location doesn’t sell them.

Other stores such as TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, JCPenney, Target, and Kohl’s also sell licensed fan apparel and jerseys for far better prices than fan shops in the mall or around town.  Find the deals and forget the rip offs.

Having a good sized monitor with a nice display will make it easier to find your place after your children have helped you lose it. Also if all the TV’s in the house are taken by Elmo, Barbie, Nickelodeon watchers and sports fans you may find that you do not have a TV at your disposal. A nice monitor and a good set of ear phones will provide the respite and relaxation you may be craving after a long day of work. While Elmo, Sesame Street and the Green Bay Packers maybe fun, they just don’t beat Glee online.

Speaking of watching TV online try these fun sites for free online movie watching fun.

Hulu.com

CBS.com

Fox.com (home of Glee online)

And so many more…but I’ll save them for another post.

Extra Money When the Wallet Really Needs It

Being a stay-at-home parent has many rewards for moms and their children but with the current financial distress that has taken over the economy and the job market, being out of the workforce is getting much tougher for families today to pay bills and keep groceries coming in as normal. If you are one of those parents feeling now helpless at home, don’t feel bad for remaining home to do the domestic and parental duties. Today’s world has some positive attributes as well.

To fill the couple-hundred-dollar gap, a part time business under twenty hours can help while continuing the same duties moms and dads carry out everyday while staying at home. Some jobs exist specifically for these parents. For some extra money try taking surveys online. Legitimate sites are always free and bring in cash and rewards for the time you took to fill them out and the answers you have provided. This is an easy job to be done during play time or nap time or while the little ones eat or watch Mickey Mouse.

Parents need a night out once in a while without the kids so why not get paid for doing so? Companies like to keep an eye on their restaurants and public opinions so they pay people to dine at them, then report back their thoughts down to the service, cleanliness, and the food itself. Everything works like a normal date night, then you quickly journal your experience to the site that hired you for them to use as feedback and marketing strategy.

Retail companies do the same to gauge their customer service and production methods. A person is paid to visit a store, shop for some items they want, and pay attention to the store displays and the employees to report back who was helpful and who wasn’t as well as thoughts on the store’s selection and set up.

These are tremendously easy jobs that work on your schedule to bring in some extra money for the family but only when you have the time to get them done; it’s the perfect job for Moms and Dads alike. Do one, two, or all three of them through different companies to get the most out of them and the most money.

For the more creative parents, if you love to knit, sew, and create any art goods, then you can make them and sell them online at Etsy. This site is for anyone who loves to create no matter what they love to make.

Photographers can sell their photos online on iStockphoto for others to buy for use in publications like brochures and books or nature magazines. Take great pictures of anything you want and then sell them for some extra cash.

Writers, web designers, and freelancers can use sites like Elance, oDesk, Guru, and Freelancer to make money at home writing, editing, creating web sites, or becoming a virtual assistant. These sites our outsourcing job boards that let freelance professionals look for and apply to the jobs they are interested and compete for the position. The pay may range from just a few dollars for small projects or in the hundreds for one that will take a couple hours per week to do. This helps stay at home parents who also want to go back to work in a few years to keep their resume strong in the meantime and provide more career opportunities while away from the normal job market.

Moms can make quick cash at home by emptying storage and the garage to clean out what is no longer needed. Sell old sports gear, clothes, books, toys, and bikes online on Craig’s List, Ebay, and Amazon for others to take it off your hands in return for a small profit.

Maternity Clothes-Buy Them, then Sell Them Here

Some stores charge a fortune for maternity clothes, knowing consumers in many areas can’t just buy them anywhere. Maternity wear prices are ridiculous in stores like A Pea in the Pod and even the popular Motherhood Maternity is not that affordable for mothers who need a few items to pick up. The nice thing about maternity clothes is that just like infants, they are grown out of quite quickly. While one mother might keep hers on hand just in case or for another child that could come along soon, others are done having children and will no longer have any use for those stretchy pants that could hold a carnival watermelon; but tossing perfectly good clothes away is just stupid in the eyes of thousands of mothers, and they’re right. While it is pretty unlikely you will make back the money you paid for them in the stores, it is quite possible to make up to half back by selling to other mothers that need to save money and acquire some heavy duty elastic in a hurry.

We all know that Ebay and Amazon are kings of the resale industry and they truly are excellent sites to easily upload old movies, books, and clothes online for bargain shoppers to feast on. Placing an ad online to post items for sale only costs a few cents and is even free during their special promotions Ebay runs a few times each year. Just take some pictures and upload to the Internet for mothers of all fifty states to browse and ship to the highest bidder and quickest online customer.

Fellow mothers swoop in on the deals while you not only help another family save some money, you make a few bucks back and unload the storage space for more important items, like those photo albums you spent forever to put together and never look at.

In addition to the very famous Amazon and Ebay marketplaces, Emommie.com does the same but it’s strictly for maternity items for expectant mothers. So while the marketplace is smaller and the web traffic volume is as well, everyone browsing the site is a mother looking for only maternity clothes or others shopping for a mother who needs some so all are potential customers to take those old threads off your hands and put a little cash back in the wallet.

Remember that all three of these sites will require you to mail them off after the clothes have been sold so get some boxes ready and make an hour to go to the Post Office or have FedEx come pick them up.

For brand new maternity clothes with reasonable prices, shop at zappos.com, Target, Old Navy, JCPenney, and the bargain retail stores such as TJ Maxx and Marshall’s. Maternity clothes work great but all of these stores also have stylish clothes like comfortable pants with an elastic waist, flowing tops that drape over a baby bump while looking lovely with your gestational glow and their prices are far better than almost any maternity store you can find.

For moms who want more style and to splurge a little, Ann Taylor LOFT even sells maternity clothes; in case you didn’t know that little fact. Ann Taylor and her LOFT stores have been well known for decades for classy fashion and they made sure to include expectant mothers as well. Wasn’t that nice of them?

A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity of course will have pants, shirts, bras, and other items for mothers whom are with child but can run a little pricey, especially a Pea in the Pod so if budget is an issue, that might not be the first place to go. Also, local organizations and Planned Parenthood will have or know great places in town to get maternity clothes from donations or second hand stores for cheap clothing when money is even tighter than your current pair of jeans.

Affordable Health Protection For The Family

Healthcare has been expensive most of its existence and even more so today, which is the reason at least 60 million Americans are going completely without it. We’ve all heard about the ongoing healthcare crisis within our nation, but analysts aren’t just talking about the rising costs of bills and doctors’ visits, they’re talking about those 60 million going sick and weary because they won’t go to the doctor while uninsured so their health suffers greatly as a result.  Their inability to pay and stop their credit score from dropping is keeping too many individuals from the care they desperately need. President Obama’s plan seems to work for some while it seems to be a complete waste of taxpayer money according to others.

Health insurance doesn’t seem to be a priority to everyone but as a mom, you should certainly keep your family covered to have regular check ups and get the vaccinations children need to prevent disease and epidemics. It is far more costly to pay medical bills in emergencies and other circumstances than a monthly premium.

To combat the expenses of both, take some time for the good of the family and consider the available options in health care for families.

Many states have at least one free health clinic per county so residents may walk in to see a doctor and get the kids the vaccinations they need anytime. Qualifying families may apply for the state medicaid programs so minor children can go to the pediatrician and emergency room for free or a state recommended doctor. States and the counties within will vary from one to another so it’s a good idea to call the county Department of Public Health office and ask doctors to learn about available programs to keep the family protected and prevent expensive medical bills from illness or breaking an arm.

For Moms whose family or children have been denied or do not qualify for Medicaid programs in their state, the next program is called Healthy Families in California that helps in very similar ways but has some cost, usually about $10 per month for families and millions more will qualify that did not meet requirements for Medicaid.  To find the program in your home state to cover the family when Medicaid won’t, visit www.insurekidsnow.org or call 1-877-543-7669 (1-877-KIDSNOW) for information state by state or go to healthinsurance.org to search for other plans no matter where your family lives in the states.

These state funded programs may not always cover dental cleanings or fillings so ask to see what is covered as programs and states Medicaid programs are all different in coverage options.

Top health insurance companies will certainly provide extensive coverage for eyeexams, dental cleanings, pediatric visits, emergency, and other options in all fifty states with an array of price ranges. For families that cannot afford the all-inclusive plans, generally these companies also have different packages and combinations of coverage down to just emergency visits for their cheapest rates. For example: Blue Cross and Blue Shield are top insurers with several plans for employers, individuals, and families for Mom and Dad to pick what is best to keep them and the children covered fot any medical need.

For more information about insurance companies such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield, their website gives resources for families in every state to find the right coverage for them for business, employer, and personal insurance.  Their “Blue Finder” section is designed to answer questions about coverage and offer potential and current clients ways to ask direct questions to receive answers with an insurance representative before buying a policy.  For online research, look through the list and descriptions of coverage choices to learn more about the company and get some information about each type of plan to compare with other companies.  Choosing a health insurance company is an important decision that affects the health of the family and the family bank account so don’t just read for five minutes and buy before you know what you will be paying each month.

Big Ticket Items with Little Ticket Prices

Babies may be cute and little but the costs of raising them are the extreme opposite.  They need clothes on a monthly basis, a lot of food and supplies to keep up with their natural processes and the gear to keep them safe and sleeping soundly is outrageous in cost.  Cribs, playpens, swings, high chairs, strollers, and car seats are all very expensive in stores even like Target or Walmart but brand new does not mean better, in fact many of these items never even show signs of being used.  Things can be washed and laundered so why waste a couple hundred dollars more for something you will use only a few months then have to throw away or donate?  It doesn’t make sense to most other moms either but for those who do want new, both sites also sell thousands of brand new items as well.

Amazon and Ebay are two of the most popular sites in all the web because the deals are incredible and everything comes right to the front door.  Shopping is easy and can be done in a few minutes while baby naps then you can get back to dishes and laundry or a mommy nap of your own.

Amazon has new and barely used cribs for low prices starting, below $80 but also going higher for those who like to splurge or pay more now for a bed that will last until kindergarten.  Find dressers and nursery furniture, new or used, in the price range you can afford and search all types of styles, sizes, brands, and wood finishes.

Ebay has some nice deals on play yards and playpens for

babies that are new or gently used from other moms no longer needing them.  These two links will provide some great search results to get started and present a solid idea of what the site has to offer to moms needing a cheaper price tag than the one that haunted them in the store or other sites online.  Items like baby strollers can be ordered from Ebay sellers or you can check the web site’s classifieds for users near you that are selling them as well.

Craig’s List has become a gold mine for moms needing baby items but also not keen on the price tags of retail.  This baby swing for instance is in great condition, it’s only $30, and a top brand.  This mom is selling a few items at once on her local Craig’s List and she’s not the only one in America doing so.  This car seat is listed at half the retail cost of the store it was purchased in.  Deals like these are all over so look around and check back daily because each day the posts will be different.

Freecycle is also a good choice to sign up for their free emails to be notified when someone near you is giving things away for free. Everyday the emails are updated with high chairs, clothing, bikes, toys, and plenty more.  People give away TVs and furniture as well when they move away or upgrade to something better so sign up for free, browse for free, and get anything on the site, absolutely free, always.

Don’t forget to consider hand me down items and asking around because someone always has something they would have just thrown away or is sitting in the garage waiting for dust to settle.  Check the local newspaper classifieds and PennySaver ads each week as people will list moving sales or giveaways for someone willing to come pick up the items.  When in doubt, do feel free to check Target, Walmart, Big Lots, and thrift shops to see if they have anything worth using at an affordable price.

Fun Winter Getaways

If you are like me, you may be going a little stir crazy with the cold weather. Also as the year gets underway, things like work and school start to take precedence and since there are few holidays to look forward to in the coming months, the natives might be getting restless. So here are some fun winter getaway ideas that will not break the bank while giving you and your family a mini winter vacation.

Since there aren’t too many holidays in the upcoming months you will probably have to fit your vacation into a weekend. Sometimes I like to take the kids to a familiar place, but switch it up by staying the night in a hotel or cabin. If a hotel stay is not in your family budget, you can always take a fun day trip, just try thinking outside of the box and see what you are able to find.

GET OUT IN THE SNOW

If you live in cold weather, you maybe over the snow by now, however, you can still make it fun by doing something a little different, like a family sledding competition or snow ball fight. Try going to a place were there are winter animals or natural events that occur only during the cold season.

Consider visiting a national park and book a reservation for a cabin or stay in a hotel nearby. GORP http://www.gorp.com/ has an easy to use reservation system, that allows visitors to book online. Since most of the parks offer discount rates during off season, this is a great way to book family weekend away.Gorp.com

This is one of the offers that looked fun to me.

Warbler watching in Texas this looked like a fun and exciting trip that could be shared with the family over weekend. The great thing about the GORP site is that you can put in your state and your interests and they will help you find an exciting weekend adventure for the family.

Yellow warbler

Fly.com has some great snow vacations on sale, just go here and http://www.fly.com/deal.aspx?id=National011911&Origin=ABQ&Destination=DEN&utm_source=tzoo&utm_medium=t20&utm_campaign=lp

find your spot. The great thing about this site is, you can select all of the discount travel sites to help you find the lowest price on airfare.

GET OUT OF THE SNOW

Maybe you are just too tired of dealing with the snow and indoor recreation is what you are craving.  Try going to an indoor water park to get some fun without the sun.Caped.com

This website: http://www.indoorwaterparks.net/index.htm

Has a list of indoor water parks, categorized by state that will tell you were the indoor water park is located in your area. Again, plan a day at the park and maybe add an overnight somewhere nearby to add to the family fun. You can find great deals on hotels

Travel deals and more discount travel packages from Travelzoo.

http://www.travelzoo.com/ Travel Zoo helps scours the internet to find you the very best rates for your vacations. I love looking over their tempting offers and dreaming of the fun my family can have. Since a lot of the rates are really affordable, I am actually considering a winter vacation getaway for us.

Another great family savings website is Happy Holidays This website http://www.wejustgotback.com/ is great because it is geared toward families especially those on a budget and has been tested and reviewed by people who have been to the places or have taken the vacations listed.

Another family vacation site is Family Travel familygetaway.com just like the We Just Got Back site it offers current getaway deals and gives reviews and alternative ways to save on your family vacation travel.

Lastly, it may be crazy, but this is a good time of year to take a CRUISE, you can find some excellent deals on last minute cruises. Garaunteed, a last minute, surprise may just be the highlight of your children’s childhood, if not, certainly memorable. You can get great deals on the following cruise website.

Home Remedies and Solutions That Work

I know that a lot of us don’t like to use chemicals in the home and try to use natural ingredients whenever possible.  Unfortunately, sometimes the only thing that is offered at stores when we are looking for cures for ailments or cleaning solutions are chemicals and chemically altered ingredients. Also store bought cleaners often don’t resolve problems like: markers on our white linens, vomit in the carpet, blood on all kinds of things you don’t want blood stains on, weird smells that emanate from children, pets and (shhh) husband and other household hazards raising kids creates. Here is a list of things that work, are inexpensive and make us feel good cause they don’t have anything we can’t pronounce in it.

CURE NAUSEA WITH GINGER

So, its the middle of the night and your kiddo “doesn’t feel well” the odd green tinge  to their skin, the air of queasiness about them, their dull glossy eyed look alerts you to the fact that your kiddo is about to blow! Difinitely grab a garbage pail, just in case, but you can also help them quell their nausea with ginger. This easy remedy should be done ahead of time and kept in the freezer for those “don’t feel good” moments.

FROZEN GINGER POPS

Take fresh ginger shave it into a pot and soak it in hot water, when the ginger has absorbed the hot water, strain it and put the ginger concoction into ice cube trays.  Then freeze. When your kiddo or you are feeling nauseas take the cubes and crush them, then suck on the crushed ice, throughout the day; it will settle your stomach. This remedy is good for little kids who are too young for medicine and pregnant women. Also kids love sucking on little pieces of ice, so hopefully it will also be fun for them as well.

REMOVE SPLINTERS, POLISH SHOES, CURE BUG BITES WITH A BANANA PEEL

09-04-09bananapeel.jpg

Who knew a banana peel had so many uses? If you are a gardener and like to tend plants, use banana peels in the soil to help fertilize. If you have one of those pesky splinters that get lodged deep within the skin, use a banana peel to draw the splinter out and help heal the wound. The enzymes in banana peels help draw out the splinter and aid the skin’s own healing process.  Tape a piece of banana peel over the splinter and it will bring the splinter to the surface, you also can use the same method to remove warts.

STAIN REMOVERS

If you have kids, you have stains. The worst of these stains are usually found on nice clothes and furniture. The clothes are not so bad, unless they are OURS as we don’t grow out of ours as fast (hopefully) and we pay a lot more for them. But in my opinion stains on the furniture and carpet beat all for being the most frustrating, so here are some home remedies for stains.

INK

In all fairness to my kids, I think I have inked my own clothes more than they have, but they have done a pretty good job of inking up the couches, the walls, their clothes and skin. So the best remedy for ink stains is hairspray or rubbing alcohol. Just dab a little on a cloth and rub it out. After a few sprays of hairspray or rubs of rubbing alcohol the stains should be able to fade.

BLOOD

Another tough one is blood stains. Here are a few different things that tackle blood stains, in the event that your little one gets tackled. All you need is COLD WATER and DISH SOAP simply blot the stain in a mixture of cold water and liquid dish soap until the stain starts to fade. For tougher or dried on blood stains use COLD WATER and AMMONIA OR HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

Here is a list of other great home remedies for household uses.

MICROWAVE LEMON JUICE TO REMOVE STAINS

Mix a little water with fresh squeezed lemon juice to remove gunk in the kitchen.

ADD VINEGAR TO THE WASH TO SOFTEN CLOTHES

Add a little white vinegar to the wash to soften and deordarize clothes. Vinegar can also be diluted in water and used to mop floors, clean counters, mirrors and windows.

These are just a few of the inexpensive home remedies one can use to help avoid exposing our families to unnecessary chemicals and expensive cleaning and first aid products.

Ahhh!!! College Costs How Much Now?!?!?!?!

Colleges across the country are increasing tuition rates for current and prospective students to attend school.  At the same time, the rise of inflation has increased the cost of living even for those living on campus in the school dorms.  When California universities were raising their rates last year, students protested on the news their frustrations and vented many had to become only part time students in order to study less, to work more, and graduate in an additional year or two due to the fee hikes.

With the cost of tuition rising so steeply in most places, parents now have stresslevels rising as well, along with the bills and struggles thanks to the horrible recession.  To the millions of mothers out there ready to reach in and tie their own tubes right now, there is some relief and some places to find help, including top colleges that have expanded their programs to help families making under $100,00o such as Brown University, with grant offers instead of loans so families would receive free money and not have to repay any fees or student loans like the schools used to offer.  This allows more students the access to better financial aid and elite schooling.  Princeton and Harvard are two Ivy League schools offering similar grant programs for these types of families and students, offering free or close to it education.  Read this article “The Most Affordable Colleges in America” and read about free tuition and grants to America’s top universities then go here to learn more from Smart Money magazine to research and save.

Some moms may need to purchase student loans to pay for the rest of their child’s education expenses but before turning to that point, let that be the last resort.  Scholarships and grants are the places to start and apply for first because they are free money that never has to be repaid as long as the student does well in school and continues to remain in class.  Join scholarships.com and FastWeb for free then begin searching right away through hundreds of offers.  Most of the listed programs are easy to apply to and generally quick so families can apply to dozens for as much money as they need to pay the bills a college student will need such as class fees, books, and room and board.  These sites even email you alerts when new projects are now accepting new applicants so you can keep up to date on the newest offers.

In addition to these resources, there are other solutions for kids and parents toincorporate in order to bring in more funding for college and utilize all options.  The old change in the jar still helps and so does putting money away in a savings account to gain interest everyday.  Parents should also research specialized savings plans like state 529 plans and Education Savings Accounts (ESAs).  529 plans vary by state regulations but most can be used for colleges out of state; speak with a financial advisor for more information.  ESAs are offered by companies like Scottrade to manage and bank funds that will grow over time and enhance income for the student in need.  Mom and Dad may visit their website to learn more or go in to a local branch.

All of these options together will help a family tremendously but there is one more free option to increase college funds even more: Upromise.  Upromise is a free savings account that gives automatic cash back on the places you shop at and the restaurants you dine at.  Register your account and credit cards so they will automatically log purchases to receive cash back or apply for a Upromise credit card.  Upromise saves the money in an account that can be withdrawn for books, tuition, and other college-related costs.  There is no limit to how many loved ones can sign up for a student and help get money back for his/her account and Upromise will send key ring tags to be scanned at participating businesses to earn more cash back from friends or co-workers.

Save on Child Care Costs

Whoa is day care expensive! Each child costs a few hundred dollars a month just for them to be watched while they play and Mom and Dad go to work. The costs for every child are hard for many families to pay each month, especially during this recession when many lose pay from lost hours, lost jobs, and benefit reduction.

When day care costs become too high, for some families, the smarter decision is for one parent to stay at home with the children as the expenses of child care become the equivalent to a pay check. Others adjust their schedules so one parent can be home while the other works to drastically limit the amount a child is in day care so the bill becomes much lower, and others lean on family and friends more to watch the children.

When the bill continues to become too high, doing the math with a paper and pencil to make a new budget plan can tremendously help struggling families find areas to save money or re-work their schedules and jobs to adjust to the changing times and mounting bills.

Homeowners may refinance while renters may look for cheaper places to live to save a couple hundred dollars on a smaller place with less rent and electricity costs. Other households trade in their cars for one with a smaller payment or a used vehicle instead of a new one.  All across America, people are cutting back and saving money.

In addition to making major changes like the aforementioned, there are some other solutions that are smaller but can reap big benefits each month to bring in a little more cash.  One very simple method is getting an old jar from mayonnaise, peanut butter, etc and collecting everyone’s change each night into the jar until it’s full or you reach a goal amount.  It’s amazing how quickly $100 adds up just from emptying pockets everyday from the family and letting it add up.  That money can go to day care costs or gas and groceries.

Collecting change helps bring in some but of course it may not be enough to pay a child care bill; so while keeping coins, parents can also save money by carpooling, having family and friends babysit once in a while, buying less snacks and bringing a lunch to work.  The key is to find little tricks that save money here and there, then doing them all together to save a couple hundred bucks each month.

For moms and dads that are very tight on money, there are available programs to help pay or reduce the costs. Depending on the child care facility, they may provide discounts to those that have more than one child enrolled with them.  Most states also have their own programs to help needy families and single moms get help paying those child care expenses or programs to reduce the costs when the income isn’t enough to pay bills.

Most states, such as California, offer free child care from 9-5 for qualifying families and students with lower incomes.  Head Start is a program across the country that offers free day care for children from birth until they are ready to enter elementary school.  They also provide services to moms and dads to help their child grow properly nutritionally and developmentally to prepare for their school years ahead.  Their services provide resources to parents and single mothers to plan for the future for careers and parenting or refer them to other aid programs that may provide additional assistance.

As tax season begins, most parents could certainly use a huge tax break to help pay the costs for the year ahead.  The Child Tax Credit is awarded to single parents and married couples that had their children in day care the previous year while Mom and Dad worked or looked for work.  Parents may get up to a 30% tax relief on the expenses they paid last year.  The Child and Dependent Care Credit also helps and some families could receive both tax credits this year in their return.
