With spring having come and gone, most retailers are discounting spring items, trying to make room for the upcoming fall seasoning. Don’t you find it odd that it’s midsummer, and there are fall clothes out? Well it’s a great time to stock up on gardening supplies, hoses, and seeds. Home Goods:
With hot days and evenings, summer is a time to cool down. Retailers begin to discount kitchen gadgets like ice cream makers, ice trays, and Popsicle trays. Not only kitchen gadgets but kiddie pools, sprinklers, sunscreen, and swim diapers. Anything related to fun in the sun begins to get marked down and put on end displays to help rid stores of summer items in order to make room for the upcoming fall season. In-season produce:
The cost of groceries seems to continually go up and up. The other day I couldn’t believe the cost of Organic Milk has gone up to $7.98 a gallon, and that was on sale! I’m quickly spending my toddlers college savings on cow’s milk. I try to save on groceries anyway that I can so during July I will stock up on in-season produce and freeze what I can to use in the months to come. Apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, strawberries, cucumbers, figs, watermelon, zucchini, yellow squash, and blueberries are only a few of the inexpensive in-season produce currently on the shelves in your local grocery store. Frozen fruit is a great way to include fruit into your muffins, breads, and every day meal planning. Not to mention purchasing produce while it’s in season will save you a hefty amount of change.
Camping Supplies:
With Labor Day quickly approaching, retailers realize that July and August are months when families decide to take their last family vacations before the school year starts. Retailers will begin marking down camping gear, tents, and bug spray.
This month you will find so many great deals, that you must get out and do a little shopping!
